Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming combined for 65 points as the Rockets defeated the Suns, 127-107, their largest home loss of the season.

Phoenix’s largest scoring deficit at home this season was 9 points, handed to them by Memphis.

This win gave Houston a 3-game winning streak, each win coming against a Top 4 Western Conference team: Dallas, Seattle, and now Phoenix.

Yao Ming had a career-high 22 rebounds to go along with his 27 points, beating his previous best of 20 against Detroit last season.

Houston guard Bob Sura returned to the lineup tonight after sitting out 7 games with a back injury. He totaled 2 points and 4 assists in 22 minutes.

Amaré Stoudemire led Phoenix with 31 points and 10 boards, but was held to 2-10 shooting by Yao in the second half. Former Rocket Jim Jackson and teammate Joe Johnson each had 15 points and combined for 5-11 shooting from the perimeter.

The game was tied at 60 at halftime, but the Suns came out roaring in the 3rd quarter. A 21-7 run put them up 81-67 with about 6 minutes left in the period.

The Rockets refused to give up. A 24-9 run by Houston put them back in the lead less than 2 minutes into the final quarter.

Later after being down 96-95, the Rockets scored 14 straight points in the next 3 minutes. The Rockets outscored Phoenix 41-17 in the 4th quarter.
